Rope Access Level 1



A level 1 rope access course will enable a technician to be capable of performing a limited range of rope access tasks required by his or her employers, under the supervision of an IRATA level 3 rope access technician. At the end of the course the student will be able to:

  • Inspect all his/her own personal rope access equipment;
  • Assist in rigging and non-standard operations, under the guidance of a higher grade;
  • Undertake a rescue involving descent by him/herself and have a knowledge of hauling systems.
  • Upgrade from level 1 to 2 or level 2 to 3 you will need a Copy of your logbook with >1000 hours / 12 months as a level 1 or level 2 work experience
